Newton Abbot MP Anne Marie Morris has apologised for a parking 'misdemeanour' which added to residents' traffic miseries in a busy Kingsteignton road.
More than 140 people in Ley Lane have signed a petition calling for the 30mph speed limit, HGV ban and parking restrictions to be enforced.
They claim drivers regularly ignored all three.
Ms Morris' Volvo was photographed breaking several rules while parked on a speed hump near to the junction with Chudleigh Road, opposite an entrance to Teign School and close to a gateway belonging to 66-year-old Neil Murgatroyd.
He said other drivers, including the police, did the same.
'They're parked so close to the gate it's hard to get out. It's a damn joke. One day someone's going to get killed,' he said.
Mr Murgatroyd has photographs of cars on double yellow lines and said an £1,800 fence surrounding his garden was damaged by people parking too close.
