WORRIED residents are calling for action this week after a tree came down, blocking a busy Newton Abbot road.

Experts have been brought in to assess the condition of the trees in Milber Woods, along St Marychurch Road, after the large oak tree fell down in the early hours of the morning.

But neighbours living along Mayflower Avenue, which runs parallel to the main route, fear more could be brought down with more serious consequences.

They have been asking for a detailed survey to be carried out and are now demanding the trees be pollarded.
