A TEIGNMOUTH junior school with a high number of disabled and special needs youngsters, has received a glowing Ofsted report.

The inspectors' verdict on Inverteign was: 'This is a good school.'

They ranked the school 'good' on overall effectiveness, the achievement of pupils, the quality of teaching, the behaviour and safety of pupils, and the leadership and management.

'It has improved its effectiveness since the previous inspection. An overwhelming majority of parents and carers hold positive and accurate views about the school, especially the overall good quality of education it provides for their children,' states the report.

'Achievement is good. The effectiveness of the Early Years Foundation Stage is outstanding. Children enter the nursery class with very low skill levels for their age and make excellent progress as a result of outstanding provision, including teaching.
