Teignmouth Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) is calling for water users to check their buoyancy aids are fit for purpose ahead of the summer.
Trained volunteers from Teignmouth Lifeboat Station will provide advice and a free check at a lifejacket clinic on Sunday May 11.
During the event, which takes place between 12 noon and 3pm, members of the public will be able to bring lifejackets to the lifeboat station for a free safety check.
Volunteers will also be on hand to provide safety tips and answer any questions about staying safe on the water.
The drop-in event is totally free and there is no booking required.
The RNLI recommends that lifejackets should be regularly inspected and serviced annually.
