Volunteers from the Teignmouth RNLI Fundraising team are looking forward to an evening of celebration on Thursday, 28 April.

Following a time of Covid uncertainty the volunteer fundraisers at Teignmouth RNLI are looking forward to their first face to face annual meeting since Covid restrictions were lifted.

The evening promises to be a celebration of all the hard work and commitment the volunteer team have put in over the last 12 months, with the presentation of awards to recognise the effort the team have put in.

There will also be several awards given to individual members to recognise the length of service and dedication they have shown over the years of being a RNLI volunteer.

Peter Hartley, chairman of the Teignmouth RNLI Fundraising Team, said: ‘We’re all looking forward to getting together to celebrate the passed year and look forward to 2022. We hope the evening is a great showcase of everything the volunteers have worked so hard on, as well as highlighting all the fantastic plans in place for the rest of this year.’

Not ones to spend too much time dwelling on past achievements the RNLI Teignmouth Fundraising Team already have grand plans ahead for 2022, with 14 events already in the pipeline, as well as numerous other ways of raising funds, from presentations and talks to boat house tours.

‘The evening is open to all and is a great opportunity to come along and discover the wonderful things our volunteer fundraising team get up to. You can also find out more about joining the team and learn how you too could raise the funds needed to save lives at sea,’ said Peter.

The event is due to take place on Thursday, April 28, 7pm at Teignmouth Yacht Club, free parking can be found after 6pm in East Cliff Car Park, just two minutes’ walk from the yacht club. The bar will be open at the venue and refreshments available to purchase.
