A FORMER jockey left paralysed from the waist down after crushing fall during a hurdle race at Exeter Racecourse in 2007, is back in the saddle against all the odds, writes John Balment.
Tomorrow Sarah Gaisford, of Buckfastleigh, will achieve her dream of riding on Dartmoor again when she accompanies retired jump jockey Richard Pitman on the War Horse Ride.
Before her accident, Sarah lived, breathed and slept horses and rode 50 winners in point to point races and 14 winners under National Hunt Rules.
