SHOPPERS are making a beeline for a new supermarket in Teignmouth.
Schoolchildren from the resort performed the ribbon-cutting honours for Lidl bosses at their Lower Brook Street premises, formerly occupied by Waitrose.
The first 50 people in the waiting queue at 8am yesterday morning (Thursday) were rewarded with a free company logo-decorated hessian bag for their troubles.
Some 40 new jobs have been created by the new store in town.
One punter said: ‘It was nice to see the premises being put to such good use again. I liked the bakery section!’
