FIREFIGHTERS stationed at a moorland town saw action this morning, Thursday, September 25, following reports of a fire in a field.
The crew from Ashburton Fire Station were disputed to a field in the Staverton area at around 10am.
Upon arrival, the crew were faced with a six-wheeled agricultural vehicle on fire.
Crews put the fire out using one hose reel jet.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘The vehicle was destroyed, and crews confirmed ignition to be accidental’.
Each year, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service help around 650 people whose vehicle has caught fire.
