Two Newton Abbot girls have taken the honours at a regional St John Ambulance first aid competition. Stephanie Pratt and Amy Smith both serve with the Tower Badgers and have been gradually working their way up the competition ladder. Having tasted success at area and county level, the pair were presented with their regional cups and shields at a ceremony in the East Street St John Hall last week. Assistant county commissioner Antoinette Williams paid tribute to the effort required to achieve the awards. 'The results show how hard both they and their leaders have worked over the past year,' she said.
