MORE than a dozen firefighters have descended upon a Newton Abbot bank this afternoon, Tuesday, November 25, following reports of a fire.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service sent three appliances and an aerial ladder platform to HSBC in response to the call.
There was a fire on the third floor of the building involving a portable electric heater, the fire service have confirmed.
Slight smoke logging was cleared by a fan, with crews using breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a covering jet.
‘Everyone had safely evacuated the building’, a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said.
