The waling season is in full swing with the Devon spring walking festival. An exciting programme of more than 30 carefully selected guided walks promises to offer something for everyone.
A special guide outlining all the walks can be obtained from local tourist information centres including Newton Abbot, Teignmouth and Dawlish. The walking festival offers the flexibility to combine walking with time to relax and enjoy many of the other delights of the region. Walks in the Teignbridge area include walking part of the Templer Way on Sunday. You can enjoy a four-mile section of this natural winding way through the 17th century landscaped grounds of Stover House and lake, and along the banks of the River Teign, all courtesy of Stover Country Park Rangers.
Additionally, tomorrow, the two-and-a-half mile trail through Haldon Forest, a chance to find out some of the lesser-known secrets of the forest. Also tomorrow, an 'apple blossom and estuaries' walk will enable you to see some of Teignbridge's orchards at their best.
These are just a few of the interesting and varied guided walks planned for the walking festival.
