Students from South Devon University Technical College have been picking up their BTEC exam results this morning.

This year UTC have had outstanding results from their Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering pathway.

Finley Stoyle (DDD) is off to study Nautical Sciences degree at Southampton Uni, Nicolas Fernandez Collier (D*D*D) will be off to study a degree in Motorsports Engineering at Oxford Brookes Uni, Sam Halliday(MMP) has already started his L3 apprenticeship in civil engineering and Jacob O’Neill (D*D*D*) has a degree level apprenticeship with a local company called Jacob’s Civil Engineering solutions in civil engineering.

Something different for each of this foursome with Finley heading to Southampton Solent University to study Nautical Science as a deck officer on a cadet ship while Nicolas is going to Oxford Brookes University to study Motorsport Engineering with an eye to joining a Formula 1 team in the future. Through hands-on projects, industry placements and employer partnerships, they have developed not only excellent technical knowledge but also the confidence and professional skills that will serve them throughout their careers.

“We are immensely proud of everything they have achieved and excited to see where their ambitions take them next.”

South Devon UTC offers students a wide range of opportunities to develop the technical skills, confidence and experiences needed for future success. Through strong partnerships with employers, universities and other education providers, students regularly take part in hands-on engineering projects, workplace visits and careers events, including experiences with Kier Construction, university and apprenticeship fairs, and collaborative engineering sessions with local schools.

Alongside its specialist STEM curriculum, the UTC is committed to students' wider personal development, welcoming visiting speakers and theatre companies to explore topics such as respect, relationships and personal responsibility.
