THERE are now five eggs confirmed laid by Black Swan parents Bert and Kimba.
Photos today show one more egg has joined the clutch on the nest on the purpose-built island on the Brook at Tuck’s Plot.
Bert and Kimba continue to take it in turns to incubate the eggs.
Meanwhile further up the Brook, the other mating pair, known as Mr Blue and Mrs Pink are continuing to look after their two eggs.
Their nest is nearer the waterline which is worrying with the amount of rain which has been falling.
Volunteers from WADE Waterways Around the Dawlish Environment are keeping a close eye on the weather and both nests with regular patrols along the Brook.
A week ago, the team carried out some clearing of the watercourse and flood gates aimed at ensuring the swans keep safe and water continues to flow.
Both sets of parents will continue to keep the eggs warm until the hatch which should be in fix to six weeks.
