A series of public meetings to consider the future of Bovey Tracey is due to start this weekend.
Teignbridge Council is preparing an improvement plan for the wider area and part of that will be a strategy for each town.
Residents in Bovey will have their first chance to talk with council staff and community representatives tomorrow from 10am-12.30pm in the Methodist Hall and again from 1.30pm-4.30 pm at St Catherine's C of E Primary School, Heathfield.
Both sessions will include heritage trail mosaic drawing workshops with artist Michelle Wilcox.
On Wednesday, a session for pupils and parents will be held at Bovey Tracey Primary School between 2pm and 4pm, again with Ms Wilcox.
On Tuesday, February 15, the Methodist Hall will once more provide the venue from 4pm-7pm and members of the business community will be particularly welcome from 5.30pm.
A Teignbridge spokesman said: 'These sessions are a chance for you to talk to community representatives, town, district and county councillors, as well as town and district council staff, about what you think of Bovey Tracey as a place to live work and visit.
'Let us know what is good, what's not so good and what could make it even better.
'Information gathered at these sessions will help us to draft a vision for the future of Bovey Tracey. This vision and how it can be achieved will then be tested through a community planning workshop.
'If you would like to be involved with the workshop please come along to the drop-in sessions to find out more or email us at forwardplanning@teignbridge,gov,uk. Alternatively, please call us on 01626 215747.'
