THOUSANDS made their way to the Teign Maritime & Shanty Festival over the weekend.

It was a weekend full of joy, sunshine and singing with the ship ‘Pelican of London’ gracing the water.

The biennial event creates an influx of visitors, bringing business to local stores and raising record funds for the various charities involved.

There were more than 50 groups participating, across over 20 locations.

From groups of traditional Morris dancers to a cycling pianist, there was something for everyone.

Kimber’s Men, who performed at the Maritime & Shanty Festival, said: ‘It was fantastic, it’s been a success all round.’
