FIREFIGHTERS from Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead were among the large-scale response to a fire in the upstairs bedroom of a property in Hollacombe.

More than a dozen fire stations mobilised crew to the incident following reports of a fire in the upstairs bedroom at around 5pm on Sunday, November 30.

Upon arrival, the roof of the property was ‘well alight’, such that a water bowser was requested, as well as an Incident Command Unit.

Crews confirmed ‘steady progress’ was being made at around 7pm, pulling water from a lake on the property.

The fire was brought under control using several main jets.

Later into the evening a drone operator was mobilised to help check for hotspots.

Crew worked throughout Sunday night and into Monday morning.
