A TEIGNBRIDGE town has been successful in attaining Fairtrade Town status again.

Bovey Tracey have successfully been awarded Fairtrade Town status again. This follows on from a long tradition of the town being designated as a Fairtrade community.

At the meeting of Bovey Tracey Town Council, Cllr Sheila Brooke presented the certificate to Chris Robillard, Chairman of the town Fairtrade Group and the Town Council reaffirmed their commitment by supporting a motion proposed by Cllr Steve Oldrieve at the meeting.

The Mayor Cllr Sheila Brooke said: 'The long -term commitment by many groups and businesses in the town is a real tribute to the community we live in and I thank them for their support, without which the status could not be sustained.'
