THREE Dutch rowers have been in Teignmouth training for the world’s toughest row.

The trio, who enjoyed a lunch stop at cafe Brunch, will be tackling the challenge of a 3,000 mile cross Atlantic row from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean.

Matthijs van Noorden, Ron Straver and Rutger Menger are the Holland Ocean Team who will be embarking on the annual race in December.

Up to 50 teams will be competing from around the world in the event.

Matthijus, Rutger and Ron will be taking part to raise money for the ALS Netherlands Foundation while they also aim to raise awareness of using hydrogen as a form of energy.

They dropped into Brunch in Teignmouth during their training.

A spokesman for the cafe said: ‘Best of luck guys and we are glad you enjoyed your breakfast with us.’
