VOLUNTEER lifesavers from the Teignmouth RNLI demonstrated their commitment to coastal safety when they were called upon to assist a stranded jet ski rider near Sprey Point on Wednesday.
The Solent Coastguard alerted the Teignmouth RNLI team shortly before 5.10 pm, prompting the crew to respond swiftly to the distress call. Arriving at the scene at 5.20 pm, the volunteers wasted no time in assessing the situation and formulating a rescue plan.
Upon evaluating the condition of the jet ski and ensuring the safety of its owner, the skilled lifeboat crew, aboard the Two Annes Atlantic 85 lifeboat, expertly took the vessel under tow. Navigating through potentially hazardous waters, they manoeuvred the jet ski to the shelter of Teignmouth Harbour, delivering the owner and their stricken craft to safety.

In a statement, Teignmouth RNLI said: 'Volunteer lifesavers from RNLI Teignmouth were tasked to assist a broken-down jet ski adrift near Sprey Point.
'Solent Coastguard requested the assistance of RNLI Teignmouth shortly before 5.10pm, the volunteer crew arrived swiftly on scene at 5.20pm. After assessing the casualty vessel and owner the Lifeboat crew onboard The Two Annes Atlantic 85 lifeboat took the jet ski under tow to the safety of Teignmouth Harbour.
'If you find yourself in trouble by the coast this summer please call 999 and ask for the coastguard. Be aware of your surroundings, check the tide times and ensure you have the necessary life saving equipment.'
