A BUNCH of Teignmouth hairdressers have stripped for charity. It started as a giggle at Oodeys in Station Road after the women enjoyed Calendar Girls at the theatre. Ally Macklin joked they could do the same, and despite initial doubts by a few, everybody agreed to reveal almost all for a good cause. 'The more we talked about it, the more we thought we could do it. There were some serious reservations, but eventually everybody took part. 'I had to use all my persuasive powers and it took a few gin and tonics before the photo shoot to calm nerves.' The calendar goes on sale at Oodeys next month priced £6.99, with the proceeds donated to the Eve Appeal, which raises funds for groundbreaking research into gynaecological cancers. About 7,000 women a year are diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and around 5,000 die.
