TRAGO Mills (South Devon) Ltd want to put five towers onto its approved garden centre at its out-of-town complex near Liverton.

The garden centre, currently being constructed, won planning permission from the Secretary of State two years ago after a call in public inquiry.

There are 32 existing towers on the shopping and leisure complex which have had the support of Teignbridge Council, but officers are recommending refusal to Monday's meeting of the development control committee.

They contend the towers are out of character with the rural setting and the form of the garden centre building, and would have an adverse visual impact in the rural landscape.
