A TOWN council has begun preparations for wildflower seed planting ahead of this weekend's walking festival.

With a helping hand from Dawlish ACT Wildlife Wardens, Dave and Scott, Sustainable Dawlish, Devon County Council and volunteers, Dawlish Town Council have started to prepare the ground at Oak Hill for wildflower seed planting.

A stretch of the verge has been identified and was strimmed in 13 patches by the council's Outside Services staff.

The grass on these patches can now be turned over by volunteers in readiness for wildflower planting on Sunday, September 10, as part of the 'Seed Bombing' element of Dawlish Walking Festival.
