Staff and students at Coombeshead Academy, Newton Abbot, were left shocked this week by news of the death of their former head of drama Kelly Housecroft, 38.

She had been diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour in 2014 after collapsing at work.

Just six month ago, she had given birth to Agnes, a second child for her and her husband Jason, and a brother for Atticus.

Coombeshead executive headteacher Matthew Shanks said on Monday: ‘Kelly was a much valued colleague – an exceptional teacher and inspirational in all she did.’
