SOME train services were disrupted as high tides and strong winds affected the line at Dawlish.

Only Cross Country trains are affected as they are susceptible to problems caused by water ingress when waves break over the seaside line.

Services on Monday evening between 7pm and 9pm and again on Tuesday morning between 6.30am and 11am were affected.

Cross Country trains said: ‘Due to a combination of high tides and strong onshore winds causing waves to overtop the sea wall at Dawlish, most across Country trains are unable to operate between Exeter St David and Penzance.’
