Firefighters from Buckfastleigh responded to vehicle fire in South Brent yesterday evening (Tuesday).

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘The crew from Buckfastleigh were called out just before 6.45pm and on arriving on scene confirmed that the vehicle was well-alight.

’They requested a second appliance for water, so a pump from Ivybridge was also sent to the scene’

Crews used one breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera, a safety jet and compressed air foam jet to extinguish the fire and booms from the environmental  pack to prevent water run off.

The cause of this incident, which left the vehicle completely destroyed, is believed to be accidental.
