VOLUNTEERS have been thanked for their efforts helping communities of Ashburton, Bovey Tracey and Buckfastleigh.
The individuals who support the work of the charity Moorland Community Caring were invited to an event held at Ashburton Arts.
Rachel Bastyan, Moorland Community Caring manager, said: ‘Without our volunteers incredible donation of time, energy and passion we would not be able to support our community as we do.
‘We are so incredibly grateful and are often left in awe at the level of dedication they show.’
Launched in 2016, the charity supports people through delivery of NHS Wellbeing Programme, Dementia Wellbeing programme, Moor Social Events, befriending and digital champions work.
Its volunteers run the Moor Social and Memory Café, drivers offer transport to social events, phone group
volunteers run quizzes, crosswords and bingo sessions and befrienders visit people at home.
