A PROJECT to create a mindfulness space at Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service’s (DSFRS) headquarters has been shortlisted for the Blue Light Card Foundation’s Workplace Wellbeing Fund.
‘This is a fantastic opportunity to secure vital funding, but we need your help’, says a DSFRS spokesperson.
The project focuses on creating and enhancing dedicated mindfulness spaces, providing a quiet, outdoor sanctuary to decompress and recharge.
It is part of the service's commitment to prioritising the mental health of its workforce, who often face high-stress and demanding situations.
The Blue Light Card Foundation’s Workplace Wellbeing Fund will support ten initiatives that enhance the mental and emotional health of people in the blue light community by offering a £2,000 grant to winning projects.
The winners will be determined by a public vote, which closes on October 10.
‘The well-being of our staff is paramount,’ says Melanie Walsh, Head of Fleet and Procurement at DSFRS.
‘Being shortlisted is a huge achievement, but to bring this project to fruition, we need the support of our communities’, Melanie added.
‘Please, take a moment to vote - it’s a small act that could have a big impact on the lives of those who keep us safe’, Melanie said.
