TEIGNBRIDGE was clearing up today (Saturday) following 24 hours of wind and rain.

Fallen trees and flooded roads caused most of the motoring misery with

Whiddon Road in Kingskerswell closed in both directions after a large tree came down across the road.

Exeter Road near Teigngrace was closed due to flooding at several locations along its length and the A382 Bovey Tracey road also suffered flooding near its junction with Ringslade Road.

A flood alert is in force for the River Teign area with flooding to low-lying land and roads close to rivers possible.

The rain is expected to ease tomorrow (Sunday), but the bad news is further heavy rainfall is forecast for Monday into Tuesday.

The local football season also suffered yet another low with numerous games being called off due to water-logged pitches.
