OVER 50 rafts launched from Dart Bridge at Buckfaastleigh this morning (Sunday October 1st) as the annual River Dart Struggle got underway.
The Totnes Rotary Club-organised event saw teams of intrepid hoe-build rafters tackle the 13km very wet route from Buckfastleigh to the finish line in Totnes.
All manner of raft designs from inflated inner-tubes to lashed barrels and all manner of crew members, including Smurfs, gnomes, pirates, and medical staff, risked white water weirs and fast flowing currents.
