A HELPING hand was needed during Sunday's Kingskerswell duck race as once again the stream running through the village had all but dried up.

The same problem hit in 2011 when organisers had no alternative but to cancel the event.

This year, however, an air of determination resulted in a visit to bypass constructor Galliford Try which came up trumps with a water bowser.
