The mayor of Dawlish, Cllr Pauline Bloomfield, attended a tea party at the Royal British Legion Dawlish premises to celebrate the 90th birthday of the formation of the RBL Dawlish Branch Women's Section.

The party was organised by the Women's Section committee, which provided a sumptuous buffet of sandwiches and cakes for members and friends.

On the same day 90 years ago – May 8, 1922 – the Dawlish branch Women's Section was formed at a community premises called The Hut, which was located on the site of what is now Barton car park in the centre of town.
