ILSINGTON barman and ultra-marathon runner Kevin Carr is to swap pulling pints for a 19,000-mile Guinness World Record attempt.
The 32-year-old, who in 2009 completed the first unsupported run from Land's End to John O' Groats, wants to become the only person to officially circumnavigate the globe on foot.
In a 20-month epic starting in April, Mr Carr will cover an average of 40 miles a day pulling a trailer containing everything he needs.
The gruelling task will involve more than 36 million footsteps and his route will pass east to west from San Francisco through New Zealand, Australia, Russia, Europe, Canada and back to North America following the most favourable weather.
