A YOUNG man was cut from a vehicle after a crash yesterday evening (Thursday) at Colley Lane Cross, Ashcombe.

A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service said they received the call at just before 5pm.

‘One fire appliance from Dawlish and one from Teignmouth were sent to a two vehicle RTC where one patient was still inside one of the vehicles.

‘Crews set up stabilisation and worked with paramedics to carry out the rescue.

‘Crews used small tools to create space to access the casualty, in order to remove them from the vehicle.

‘The casualty was a young man, and crews and paramedics were finally able to release him safely.

‘He was then conveyed to hospital via Ambulance.

Crews also used dry powder and carbon dioxide extinguishers to ensure no fire. Crews left duty of care with the police.’
