Christmas shopping can sometimes feel like a race against the clock, but this year there’s a chance to slow down, soak up the festive atmosphere and discover something a little different at the annual Newton Abbot Christmas Fayre.

Taking place at Newton Abbot Racecourse on Saturday 28th November, the popular event brings together more than 70 local businesses, makers, producers and traders, with thousands of visitors expected to attend.

From handmade gifts and unique Christmas decorations to crafts, festive food and drink, there will be plenty to browse, taste and take home. The Stable Block will also be transformed for the occasion, with stallholders getting into the Christmas spirit and decorating their spaces to create a wonderfully festive shopping experience.

There will be something for all ages, including a Christmas tree seller, carol singers and plenty of opportunities to enjoy some festive refreshments from the racecourse café and visiting food and drink stalls.

For families, a visit to Santa’s Grotto is sure to be a highlight. For £10, children can meet Santa, receive a special gift and enjoy an activity with his elves while they wait. There will also be opportunities for photographs to capture the festive moment. Santa’s Grotto must be booked in advance via the racecourse website, with spaces expected to be popular.

For those feeling creative, the annual wreath-making workshops offer the chance to make your own festive wreath with all materials and tuition provided for £35. Spaces are limited and must also be booked in advance.

Entry to the Christmas Fayre is just £3 for adults, with children going free, and there is no need to book general admission.
