Every June, Mill Marsh Park in Bovey Tracey transforms into something special; a vibrant village of marquees, makers, music, and making. For many, the pilgrimage to Bovey for Craft Festival is an annual treat - the welcoming atmosphere, the anticipation of seeing and experiencing something new and the gathering of like-minded friends is an irresistible draw.
Dubbed The Glastonbury of Craft, Craft Festival Bovey Tracey offers three joyful days celebrating contemporary craft, creativity, and community.

At the heart of the event are around 200 exceptional designer-makers. Makers travel from all corners of the UK, reflecting the festival’s national appeal and importance to the craft loving audience. Exhibitors are selected by an independent panel for the quality, originality and skill of their work. Visitors can expect an inspiring mix of ceramics, jewellery, textiles, glass, metal, printmaking, furniture and more from nationally recognised names to exciting emerging talent, including many makers from Devon and the Southwest.
Craft Festival is about more than shopping, it’s about getting hands-on, feeling inspired and being involved. Across the weekend, adults can join creative workshops led by professional makers and try their hand at everything from wood carving and stone cutting to willow weaving and chopping board making.
For younger visitors, the much-loved Children’s Craft Club offers a lively programme of free, drop-in activities in partnership with Bovey based educational charity, Make Southwest. It’s a space buzzing with imagination, colour and creativity.

Festival Director, Sarah James MBE says: “I’ve been running Craft Festival for 22 years and I never tire of it. One of my favourite places is The Craft Club. The energy jumps out at you and shows that children love and need making. It is so important to provide opportunities to learn through play and making. The children are engrossed and excited. And that makes me incredibly happy.”
A festival wouldn’t be the same without live music and delicious food. Visitors can enjoy both with locally sourced street food, from wood-fired pizza and vegan burgers to Caribbean flavours and irresistible ice cream. The festival also offers well-being morning yoga in the park with Anna White of Pretzel Yoga Studio.
Set on the edge of Dartmoor, surrounded by parkland and buzzing with creativity, Craft Festival Bovey Tracey is more than an event, it’s a summer highlight, a creative gathering, and a celebration of making in all its forms.
