WITH the league season coming to an end, it has certainly been a mixed bag for Newton Abbot bowlers.

In the SDL Premier League, the ladies finished third from bottom but it was fairly bunched up in the middle of the pack.

Newton Abbot men's A-Team stayed up in the MDL Premier League, finishing before those around them and then the final results favouring them.

In the MDL Third Division, the men's B-Team finished comfortably and indeed there was an outside chance of going up towards the end but they couldn't quite make it. The same can’t be said for the C-Team who were unfortunately relegated from that league.

Despite the leagues finishing, there are still a few tourist games to come with Leicester City visiting next on Tuesday, September 1.

Lastly, Newton Abbot member Dave Pickett has gone up to Leamington Spa (Thursday 27) to fulfil duties as Devon Senior VP with the mixed over 60s hoping to win the national title.
