South Devon's season goes from bad to worse as for the second consecutive week both teams lost by big margins, writes Gordon Hooper.
At Marsh Road, the first team were defeated by seven wickets as Chudleigh eased past the home side's 146 all out with more than 17 overs to spare.
The home side had looked to be heading towards a competitive total but needed at least one more big individual score to supplement Henry Burningham's 65.
The opener put on 54 for the first wicket with Ryan Maunder (12), and combined with Paul Hooper (13) in getting the total up to 89.
The century mark was passed and with 20 overs and eight wickets remaining, but four went for the addition of only three runs and apart from 14 from David Knowles, no one else got to double figures.
Jack Thomas was the main wicket taker with 4-18 from 7.2 overs; Rob Clarke and Sean Day picked up two wickets apiece.
Chudleigh's openers Ed Freeman (13) and Matt Heather (10) were parted with only 19 on the board but that only brought Scott Schwar to the crease
The big hitting wicket-keeper/batsman scored a rapid 75 not out, including a handful of sixes, to see his side home in some comfort.
The three wickets to fall were shared between captain Jonty Parsons, Knowles and Robert Stephens.
As a consequence of this win, Chudleigh are the only unbeaten side in the division and top the table ahead of Ivybridge, which is where second from bottom South Devon go tomorrow looking for their first victory after a winless May.
Chudleigh, meanwhile, play host to Lewdown.
South Devon 2nd XI conceded a massive 309-6 at Budleigh Salterton before being bowled out for 102 to lose by 207 runs.
Best with the bat for the visitors was Dave Amery (23) and Shaun Taylor (15).
Tomorrow, South Devon 2nd XI welcome Sidmouth III XI to Marsh Road.
