TEIGNMOUTH & Shaldon defeated Sidmouth 2nd XI by four runs in a thriller finish to the C Division East season.
While every other game in the division failed to start, a 37-overs-each game was played out at the Hazeldown Oval.
Teignmouth & Shaldon were all out for 166 with one ball left of their innings.
Two wickets in the first over for Sidmouth seamer George Bower (3-32) had T&S reeling, but a stand of 50 between Morgan Couch (51) and Todd Ballman (25) restored some equilibrium.
Ryan Bougourd made 20 batting at ten, runs which proved crucial in the final tottings up.
Ethan Chiappe (3-20) and Charlie Brock (2-15) took wickets down the order.
Sidmouth’s veteran opener and former first-team skipper Anthony Griffiths batted from start to finish for an unbeaten 79 in the away side’s reply. Brock (29) chipped in as the target came down.
Eleven to win from the final over bowled by Ross Jameson (4-36) proved just a few too many for Sidmouth, who ran out of time on 162 for seven.
