NEWTON Abbot Spurs looked to be heading for a win on Saturday, February 28, until their hosts popped up with a late strike to earn themselves a point.

Toby Pullman scored the go-ahead goal for Spurs away at Ilfracombe Town only for Tom Marsh to make it 1-1 at the death.

Being able to get the fixture fulfilled will have been a plus for Spurs though who, tied with Bovey Tracey AFC, have the most games still to come (13). They visit Stoke Gabriel & Torbay Police next.

Meanwhile, Bovey were supposed to visit Teignmouth AFC for a Friday night derby but this was unfortunately postponed. Bovey host Bishops Lydeard on Saturday whilst Teignmouth have the weekend off.

Returning to Spurs and they shared the tragic news that former player Pete Eveleigh had passed away at the age of 33 following a battle with Motor Neurone Disease. Condolences to all of Pete’s loved ones.
