BUCKLAND Athletic 1st XI were without a game on Saturday, February 14, due to rearrangements in their schedule.
There were three fixtures fulfilled in the Western League Premier Division though, all involving teams in and around the Bucks.
Barnstaple Town closed the gap on sixth-placed Buckland to three points thanks to a 4-1 home win over Oldland Abbotonians, striker Josh Parry notching a hat-trick at Mill Road.
Saltash United are also close behind now as they won 3-2 away at Shepton Mallet whilst the leapfrogging between the top two sides continued. Torpoint Athletic edged out Bridgwater United by a single goal to return to the summit, leading Clevedon Town by just one point.
Buckland have a huge game this coming Saturday as they head to Bristol to take on third-placed Paulton Rovers.
Matt Cusack’s men then returns to Homers Heath on February 28, welcoming the aforementioned Bridgwater to Newton Abbot.
