A CHALLENGING yet picturesque course greeted runners at Sunday’s (Mar 29) Feighan Fury event, as participants, including FIT2Run Coach Michaela Snell, tackled steep hills, muddy trails, and woodland paths in a race that proved extremely demanding.

The race began dramatically with a shotgun start, immediately sending competitors uphill before a sharp descent into scenic woodland. From there, runners navigated a varied off-road course featuring fields, bridle paths, and forest trails, with sections of mud creating slippery and testing conditions underfoot.

Despite the physical demands, the route offered moments of natural beauty, including streams and wooden bridges that added to the event’s unique character. However, the terrain remained relentless, with multiple steep climbs throughout the course challenging even experienced runners.

A particularly notable stretch came around mile eight, where participants faced a prolonged and steep downhill section lasting nearly a mile—only to be met with a final uphill climb in the closing stages of the race.

The Feighan Fury event is held in memory of Mike Feighan and continues to draw runners seeking a rewarding challenge in a supportive and friendly atmosphere with a great community spirit, and a course that tested endurance to its limits.
