Totnes Bowling Club opened their 2012 season with a Five Mixed Triples Friendly at home to Kingsbridge Park.

Despite the triple of Penny Keat, Bob Perkins and Eric Glanfield recording a two shot win, losses in the other four games meant that the visitors won the match by 17 shots.

P Keat, R Perkins, E Glanfield won 15-13; M Richards, E Luce, P Tulley lost 11-14; A Adams, G Dimmick, J Taylor lost 121-20; P Bleach, B Cawthorne, G Adams lost 10-14; S Holland, R Jewell, I Taylor lost 12-15.

The club's open day proved a huge success, with members of the public turning up to try the game of bowls. So successful, that many signed up to become members, and the encouraging aspect as far as Marie Anderson and her helpers were concerned, was that many looked as if they could become very good bowlers.

The club's First Leg Summers Trophy game against Kingsbridge Town, on Sunday, April 29 was postponed due to heavy rain making the green unplayable.

Thursday, May 3 – Totnes v Paignton, Riviera League, away, 10am; Mens B v Victoria B, Mid-Devon League, away, 6pm.

Tuesday, May 8 – Ladies v Bovey Tracey, 3 Triples Friendly, away, 2pm; Mens B V Paignton Torbay B, Mid-Devon League, home, 6pm.
