The opening next Thursday of a new restaurant complex at Trago Mills, Liverton, will create 35 jobs taking the total at the 100-acre site to 650.
The project is the final piece in a £15 million development jigsaw first begun almost ten years ago by boss Bruce Robertson.
He said: 'This is the third and final phase of the acclaimed garden park project that, incredible though it seems, was conceived almost a decade ago.
'Worth the battles, frustrations and effort, definitely.
'It squares the circle of what has been a further £15 million investment into the Liverton site and together with the garden centre, brings a new qualitative dimension to a trip to Trago that remains solidly founded upon our second to none value for money principles.
'With a further 35 jobs created in the cafe, the total number employed within the 100 acre complex to include the Co-op and our other independent partners now approaches 650, principally local people.
'We are a 100 per cent west country owned enterprise and I hope it remains a personable and valued asset within the Teignbridge community.'
