ARSONISTS are believed to have torched a car in Kingskerswell last night.

Several 999 calls were made after the vehicle was seen to be well alight in Orestone Lane just after 10.30pm.

Two hosereel jets were used by firefighters in breathing gear to deal with the blaze.

A fire spokesman confirmed the cause was reckoned to be deliberate.

He said the matter had been left in the hands of police to investigate.
