FIRE crews from Buckfastleigh and Ashburton cut a person free from a crashed vehicle early on Monday morning.

On their Facebook page Buckfastleigh Fire Station posted these picturesand said: ‘Shortly after midnight we were called along with Ashburton Fire Station to reports of a single vehicle rtc persons reported.

‘On arrival an off duty member of the RNLI and the police were rendering first aid before we took over casualty care.

‘The road was closed while crews got to work using cutting equipment to assist with the release of the occupant.

‘Once released from the vehicle the patient was left in the care of our collegues in the Ambulance Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).’
