TWO motorists were caught breaking the speed limit on Buckfastleigh’s ‘race-track’ Plymouth Road.
Police set up the speed check in response to local concerns about those ignoring the 30mph restrictions.
Friday’s campaign caught just two offenders - one doing 34mph and the other 40mph.
The slower of the two was given ‘words of advice’ about the transgression.
But the faster culprit drove off before police could have a word.
A spokesman said after Friday’s operation: ‘The vehicle had no insurance and no MOT.
He added: ‘Inquiries are currently being made - and that driver will have his day in court.’
