Firecrews from Bovey Tracey and Ashburton responded to reports of a two vehicle road traffic collision on Saturday evening.

Fire control had received a call from police requesting assistance at the incident just off the B3193 near Chudleigh.

Once at the scene crews got to work with ambulance crews to gain access to one trapped casualty using small tools. The casualty was successfully released and firefighters assisted paramedics stretchering the patient to a waiting ambulance.

Crews also used an environmental protection pack at the scene to soak up and contain an oil spill caused by the collision.
