TWO people were checked over by paramedics after a road accident outside Coombeshead Academy in Newton Abbot.

A man and woman were said to be shaken by the collision involving two Audis – one registered locally and the other from Kennford.

The bump happened just before 8.30pm last night on the Ashburton Road junction with Coombeshead Road.

Both casualties were treated at the scene. They did not need hospital treatment.

Highways staff were called to clear spilled petrol from the road.
