A YOUNG van driver was hurt when his vehicle hit and killed a deer on the A380 at Mamhead this morning.
The accident happened on the Exeter-bound carriageway where deer warning signs are featured.
Police and paramedics were called to the incident at 8am, causing rush-hour congestion on the busy route into Exeter.
The driver, aged 19, was taken by ambulance to hospital.
