A MAN had a charge that he drove at more than 60mph on the A38 at Dean Prior dismissed.

However, Alexander Scott, aged 53, of Clarence Place, Mount Gould, was banned after he was found guilty of failing to provide police with the information to identify the driver of a Volkswagen Crafter who was alleged to have committed an offence.

He pleaded not guilty to both charges and the speeding charge was dismissed.

Scott was fined £553 and ordered to pay £150 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and £55 to fund victim services. He was banned from driving for six months.
